It has been a year of historic highs for JD Institute of Fashion Technology’s Interior Design department. From innovative exhibitions and interactive awards to industry-defying collaborations and technology-infused learning, JD students weren’t just spectators; they set the pace. Let’s take a look at top interior design moments for 2025, and why JD Institute is leading the charge in India’s design conversation.
1. JD at D-arc BUILD 2025 – Where Design Sculpted the Future
Hosted at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) between June 20–22, D-arc BUILD 2025 was a design carnival. Spanning 16,000 square meters with over 300 brands, this maiden exhibition witnessed the who’s who of architecture, interiors, and construction gathering in one place.
JD’s Interior Design students were exposed to the most recent concepts in four experiential zones—Smart Home, Design & Décor, Rapid Construction, and Ultra Luxe. From smart lighting live demos to displays of eco-friendly materials, the event gave students an insider experience of the latest in industry innovation and enabled them to connect with world brands, trends, and discussions in real time.
2. AI Meets Interior Design at Samsung Opera House
On June 9th, JD’s interior design students participated in a one-of-a-kind AI Workshop hosted by the iconic Samsung Opera House. The workshop, led by Mr. Lee Chang Rae, a seasoned AI professional, opened doors to an evolving world, imparting students with Artificial Intelligence’s new means of revolutionizing design thinking.
From AI-powered simulations in urban planning to fantasy-merging custom learning spaces, the session blended fantasy with innovation. The workshop wasn’t about technology; it was about reimagining creativity.
3. JD Design Awards 2025 – A Platform for Visionary Interior Design
Held at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, the JD Design Awards 2025 (Interior Design – Bangalore Edition) was a stunning parade of AI-enabled, human-centric, and human-friendly designs.
The winning projects weren’t mere academic exercises—sublime design statements. From neuro-responsive space to biophilic co-living models, to circular crafts in interior design, students addressed real-world challenges such as emotional well-being, sustainability, and inclusivity.
Some of the highlight winners were:
- Deepthi Sri for Neuro Sphere (Outstanding Research Award)
- Sanjana Jain for Minutes of Break (Best Transformative Space Design)
- Padmavathi M for Roaming Luxe (Retail Innovation)
- Mahima Donata I for Little Wings (Sensory-Sensitive Spaces)
- Rhea Ravindra for Sahar – Haven (Cultural Fusion & Immersion)
Far from being an evening of just awards—the event initiated thought-provoking industry discourse, courtesy of some prominent guest speakers from Blum, Livspace, Design Café, Pergola Design, Invisible Bed, and more.
4. Where Design Meets Opportunity: Placement Drive 2025
JD Institute does not stop at learning—learning is pushed further to leave a significant difference in careers. The Interior Design student Placement Drive of this year saw the attendance of over 50+ major design firms, some of which are: Livspace, Bonito Designs, Furniture Fitting Skill Council, Invisible Bed, Vystrit Designs, Ethos, Design Café, Blum, Pongs, Wallqueen Interiors, Material Depot, and many more.
These recruiters were recruiting revolutionaries who think outside the box and construct for the future.
A Community of Future Creators

With practical hands-on tech training sessions, cutting-edge exhibitions, or placement and awards aligned to industry, JD continues to equip students not only for the marketplace, but for meaningfully shaping the world and understanding with design empathy.
In a global environment of continuous change, JD designers are positioned—not to play catch-up, but to lead.
